Austrade's Regional Director for the Americas Visits Port of Spain

Austrade's Regional Director for the Americas, Mr Ian Wing, visited Port of Spain on 7 December 2005. His visit focused on calls to follow-up on and explore commercial possibilities between Australia and Trinidad and acquainting himself more fully on the Trinidad and Tobago business environment. The Australian High Commissioner, H E Mr John Michell, hosted a cocktail party for Mr Wing on the evening of 7 December at which views were exchanged with senior business people on promoting commerce between Australia and Trinidad. Mr Wing, accompanied by Australia's Trade Commissioner for the Caribbean, Mr Paul Martins, briefed participants on the Business Club Australia: Melbourne 2006 concept (which centres around the Melbourne Commonwealth Games and offers powerful, internet based networking opportunities with Australian business). Earlier Mr Wing and Mr Martins had visited Jamaica to launch Business Club Australia: Melbourne 2006. Photographed is Mr Wing (right) and Mr Martins (centre) in discussion with a guest at the Australian High Commissioner's cocktail party.
